Women Who Roar Leadership Circle: From Honoree to Ongoing Impact

Two people at Women Who Roar event.

This past Friday, members of the Women Who Roar Leadership Circle gathered for “Portraits and Prosecco” at SRQ Magazine — a special event bringing together past honorees to reconnect, celebrate one another, and continue building the community of leadership that makes this group so unique.

Among those in attendance was Cheyenne Williams, owner of Shiney Day Specialized Pet Care, who joined the Leadership Circle in 2024 after being honored as one of SRQ Magazine’s Women Who Roar. The event encouraged guests to come dressed in black and white for a day of photography, camaraderie, and meaningful conversations that highlight the lasting bonds between these inspiring women.

What the Women Who Roar Awards Represent

Each year, SRQ Magazine invites the community to nominate women who exemplify personal integrity, expertise, and community engagement — the hallmarks of the Women Who Roar platform. Nominees respond to a thought-provoking application, sharing insights on defining success, overcoming personal challenges, their “secret sauce,” and the wisdom they would give to their younger selves.

Applications are judged by respected leaders from outside the region, and winners are inducted into the Women Who Roar Leadership Circle at the Together We Roar Leadership and Awards Luncheon each October. Members continue to engage year-round through events and initiatives like SMARTgirl and SkillSHARE, mentoring and inspiring women of all ages.

Cheyenne’s 2024 Award: Compassion, Resilience, and Leadership

When Cheyenne Williams was honored in 2024, she stood among an exceptional group of women recognized for their leadership, innovation, and community impact. Her story is one of both professional dedication and deeply personal resilience.

Just as every life is worth saving, every soul — human or animal — deserves care, compassion, and unconditional love,” Cheyenne shared in her SRQ Magazine feature.

The loss of her mother to suicide was a defining moment in Cheyenne’s life, teaching her the fragility of life and the importance of connection. These lessons became the foundation of Shiney Day Specialized Pet Care’s mission — to treat every animal and every pet parent like family, with empathy, trust, and unwavering care.

Beyond Shiney Day, Cheyenne works with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, channeling her grief into advocacy, education, and life-saving initiatives.

Defining Success on Her Own Terms

For Cheyenne, success is not measured by accolades or income, but by the lives she touches. Whether it’s helping a shy rescue dog come out of their shell, hearing a client share a story of hope, or watching the community rally around a cause, she values the small, meaningful moments above all else.

Shiney Day Specialized Pet Care: More Than a Pet Sitting Service

Serving Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties, Shiney Day offers personalized pet sitting for dogs, cats, exotics, and pets with medical needs. With over 25 years of combined emergency and specialty veterinary experience, the team — accredited by Pet Sitters International, Fear Free Certified, and trained in pet CPR — is ready for everything from routine walks to advanced medical care.

This dedication to both pet wellness and client peace of mind is why Cheyenne’s Women Who Roar honor continues to resonate — and why she remains an active and valued member of the Leadership Circle today.
